John brings nearly two decades of counseling experience to his work with individuals, couples, families, and groups across all age ranges. He completed his undergraduate work at Michigan State University, earned his Master of Social Work from Wayne State University, and holds a Master of Divinity from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh — a combination that reflects both his clinical range and his commitment to integrating faith when clients want it.

He is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and genuinely finds joy in that work. His clinical approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (with advanced certificate training under Dr. John Ludgate, a direct student of CBT's founder), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, Gottman techniques, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. He has substantial experience with families and individuals in crisis, grief and loss, ADHD, autism spectrum, and substance abuse.

Outside the office, John is married with two sons, actively involved in evangelical church life, and spends his free time on history, theology, Bible study, music, and guitar. Clients describe him as steady, deeply present, and refreshingly free of pretense.
